DANBURY, Conn. – The Western New England College women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at Western Connecticut in a non-conference match Thursday night (Oct. 21)

The Colonials improve to 11-4-1 overall while the Golden Bears slip to 10-7 on the year.

Western Connecticut has won eight of its last nine games and registered a shutout for the ninth consecutive match.

The Colonials struck early as junior forward Jillian Duran (Uncasville, CT) scored just 2:16 into the match,

Senior defender Tina Dias (Shelton, CT) provided an insurance goal at 75:12 to seal the result for the home side.

The Colonials kept the pressure on all match, holding a 22-3 advantage in shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Caitlin Avery (East Hampton, CT) recorded the shutout while making one save.

Western New England College freshman goalkeeper Victoria Trezise (Islip, NY) made 11 saves in the contest.

Western New England College returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 23) hosting Curry at 1:30 p.m. on Senior Day.
