SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Western New England College men's soccer team cruised to a 7-0 win over Anna Maria in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match on Tuesday (Oct. 26) at Suprenant Field.

The Golden Bears close out the regular season with a 12-5-2 overall record and a 10-2-1 mark in conference play. The AMCATS fall to 4-14 on the year with a 3-10 TCCC record.

Freshman forward Andrew Rose (Farmington, CT) opened the scoring at the two-minute mark with an assist from Alex Dos Santos (Ludlow, MA).

Senior midfielder Justin Martins (Ludlow, MA) scored at 20:56 as Rose and junior midfielder Eric Marcelino (Farmington, CT) earned the assists.

Freshman forward Jon Axton (Chicopee, MA) scored at 42:30 to give the Golden Bears a 3-0 edge heading into the half-time break. He was assisted by Shawn DaCruz (Ludlow, MA).

Junior forward Jon Rusin (Chicopee, MA) netted the fourth goal in the 58th minute on an assist from Marcelino.

Junior forward Austin Santolini (Agawam, MA) tallied his first of two goals at 69:10 with assists from junior defender Mark Deganis (Cheshire, CT) and DaCruz.

Freshman forward Jake Bartnik (East Longmeadow, MA) scored an unassisted goal at 79:28.

Santolini notched his second goal at 83:05 on an assist from sophomore defender Garrett Festa (Cheshire, CT) to close out the scoring.

Junior goalkeeper Sean Healey (Portland, CT) earned the win, making two saves in the opening half. Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Starr (Somers, CT) came on in the second half to make a pair of saves.

AMCATS junior goalkeeper Mike Dandurand (Warwick, RI) made six stops for the visitors.

Western New England College has qualified for the conference tournament and is set to host a quarterfinal match on Saturday (Oct. 30).
