CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Western New England College field hockey team wrapped up its regular season with a 7-0 rout of Elms on Thursday (Oct. 28) in non-league play. 
The Golden Bears have won four straight games as they improve to 9-10. The Blazers end their season at 0-17.
WNEC jumped to an early 3-0 lead starting when senior midfielder 
Erin Griffin (Lowell, MA) opened the scoring at 8:51 with an assist from sophomore midfielder 
Lindsay Lalonde (Middlebury, VT).
Senior forward 
Aimee O'Connell (Rome, NY) quickly added the second goal at 9:20 for her fifth score of the season.
Freshman midfielder 
Jaynie Mueller (Colorado, CO) stretched the lead to 3-0 just one minute later after also getting her fifth goal of the year.
In the second half, freshman midfielder 
Sarah Race (Cazenovia, NY) netted her third goal of the season at 41:56.
Griffin added her second goal of the afternoon (and team high seventh of the year) at 62:22 with an assist from O'Connell.
Sophomore forward 
Caitlin Foster (Hyde Park, NY) notched her first goal of the season at 64:21 as senior midfielder 
Sarah Antosik (South Windsor, CT) earned the assist.
Senior forward 
Amy Hedberg (Guilford, CT) tallied the final goal at 65:27 on an assist from freshman midfielder 
Kim Perez (Westfield, MA).
Elms sophomore goalkeeper 
Alexandra Bonavita (Agawam, MA) registered 19 saves in the contest.
Western New England College will host Endicott at 1:00 pm Saturday (Oct. 30) in a quarterfinal round game of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Championship.
