SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Western New England College women's tennis team ended its home season on a positive note with a 9-0 victory over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Thursday afternoon (Oct. 7).

The Golden Bears dedicated the match to long-time equipment manager Norm Leclerc who was inducted into the school's Downes Athletic Hall of Fame on October 1.

WNEC lost only one point in sweeping the doubles matches and captured all six singles matches in straight sets.

Making their final appearance on their home court were senior Ashley Czelatka (Southampton, NY) and junior Amanda Ide (Hamden, CT) who won both their number three and six singles matches, respectively.

Czelatka also teamed with junior Jess Haffner (Suffield, CT) for a win at number two doubles.

Coach Jenn Kolins' squad is now 5-7 while the Trailblazers fall to 1-8.
