PAXTON, Mass. - The Western New England College women's lacrosse team scored the first seven goals of the game in rolling to a 20-8 victory over host Anna Maria Saturday (Apr. 24).

This was the fifth consecutive win for the Golden Bears who are no 10-6 overall and 8-2 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The AMCATS fall to 2-14 and 1-10 in the league.

Freshman attacker Carolyn Gilland (Middlebury, CT) led 13 players scoring points with four goals.

Junior attacker Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntington Station, NY) added three goals and two assists while freshman attacker Julianne Green (Brightwaters, NY) contributed three goals.

Junior attacker Nicole Squadrito (Ellington, CT) and sophomore attacker Katie Toomy (Northborough, MA) each chipped-in with two goals and two assists.

Junior attacker Marisa Hebert (Saco, ME) recorded 20 draw controls. Junior defender Nicole Poli (Medfield, MA) had five ground balls, three caused turnovers and draw controls, a goal, and three assists.

Junior goalie Marissa Bonitatibus (Yorktown Heights, NY) played the first 8 minutes, 51 seconds and allowed one goal while making a save. Junior Erin Doherty (Westford, MA) played the rest of the way finishing with four saves.

Anna Maria sophomore midfielder Katie Schebel (Ludlow, MA) fired in three goals while freshman defender Alexandra Smith (Norwell, MA) scored twice.
