BEVERLY, Mass. - Western New England College field hockey earned a 1-0 road victory against rival Endicott in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) action on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 18).

The Golden Bear's goal was scored by senior defender Erin Griffin (Lowell, MA) with 12:50 off the clock on a penalty corner.  The goal marks the second for Griffin, both goals were game-winners.

The Western New England College defense was tested throughout, as they were outshot by the Gulls 25-5.  Endicott also held a 15-7 advantage in penatly corners.

Freshman goalie Brittney O'Brien (Carver, MA) was outstanding in the cage for WNEC, stopping 11 shots on her way to the shutout.

The Golden Bears improve to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in TCCC play, while the Gulls will drop to 5-2 (1-1).

Western New England College returns to the field on Tuesday (Sept. 21), as they travel to Mount Holyoke for a 7:00 start.
