WORCESTER, Mass. - The Western New England College field hockey team suffered a 5-1 loss in a non-conference contest against Clark on Thursday night (Sept. 23).

Sophomore Mel Melkonian (Worcester, MA) and freshman Talia Fish (Philadelphia, PA) each tallied a pair of goals for the Cougars. Melkonian also contributed a pair of assists.

Western New England College freshman Jaynie Mueller (Colorado Springs, CO) converted a penalty stroke at 19:52 for her second goal of the season.

Clark goalkeeper Kate McGrath (Wilmington, MA) made seven saves to earn the win.

WNEC freshman goalkeeper Brittney O'Brien (Carver, MA) and sophomore Kaitlyn Hall (Pawtucket, RI) combined to make seven saves.

Clark improves its record to 5-2, while Western New England College falls to 3-5.
