DUDLEY, Mass. - The Western New England College men's soccer team suffered it's first setback in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with a 4-2 loss to Nichols on Saturday (Sept. 25).
The Bison (6-1) ran their win streak to six and remained unbeaten in the conference with a 4-0 mark. The Golden Bears (5-4-1) are now 3-1 in TCCC action.
Nichols' sophomore
Scott Coderre (Thompson, MA) gave the home side a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute.
Western New England College would quickly answer as sophomore
Bobby Jameson (Northbridge, MA) tallied his first goal of the year in the 43rd minute to tie the game at halftime.
Freshman
Brendan Whitson (Holden, MA) put the Bison ahead in the 66th minute when he headed home a corner kick from senior
Matt Nash (West Springfield, MA).
The Golden Bears' would again answer as
Shawn Fitzpatrick (Burnt Hills, NY) headed in a corner kick by
Shawn DaCruz (Ludlow, MA) to level the score in the 75th minute.
Nichols pulled ahead for good when senior
Ryan Wytrych (Feeding Hills, MA) tallied his first goal of the season in the 79th minute. Nash and Whitson connected just over a minute later to provide the insurance goal.

Brendan Hamilton (North Attleboro, MA) compiled eight saves.
Western New England College returns to action with a TCCC match at Regis on Wednesday (Sept. 29) starting at 7:00 p.m.
