Western New England draws against Eastern Nazarene 2-2 in conference action

QUINCY, Mass. – Senior midfielder Morgan Vogt (Henniker, NH) nets a goal and an assist as Western New England battles to a 2-2 double overtime draw with Eastern Nazarene in a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match on Saturday (Oct. 1) afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
 
The Lions took an early lead as senior forward Kara Webber (Marshfield, MA) put the home side up 1-0 in the 7th minute of play.
 
Junior defender Jocelyn Rose (Clinton, CT) scored her first career goal off of a corner kick by Vogt to the level the score in the 13th minute for WNE.
 
Vogt then put the Golden Bears in the lead 2-1 as she scored her second goal of the season.
 
After trailing 2-1 at the half, Eastern Nazarene wasted little time finding an equalizer in the 47th minute as freshman defender Samantha Williams finished a cross by freshman forward Juliana Speno (Hopewell Junction, NY) to knot the score at 2-2.
 
WNE sophomore goalkeeper Victoria Trezise (Islip, NY) recorded 11 saves in 110 minutes of action.
 
Freshman goalie Rachel Henry (Lowell, MA) made four stops for the Lions.
 
Western New England returns to the field on Tuesday (Oct. 4) at 4:00 p.m. to host MCLA in non-conference play.
