Box Score Scoring Summary

WENHAM, Mass. - Junior attacker Jocie Knaus (Kensington, CT) and freshman midfielder Stephanie Fitzgerald (Groveland, MA) each scored three goals as the Gordon women's lacrosse team handed Western New England its first loss in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) with an 11-9 victory Saturday (Apr. 9).

Fitzgerald also added an assist for the Fighting Scots who raised their record to 8-5 and 6-2 in the conference. The Golden Bears saw their six-game winning streak ended in falling to 8-4 and 5-1 in TCCC play.

Senior defender Nicole Poli (Medfield, MA) and freshman midfielder Kelsey Daniels (South Windsor, CT) each tallied three goals for Western New England. Junior midfielder Katie Toomy (Northborough, MA) contributed a goal and assist.

Knaus netted two of her goals in the opening half as the hosts jumped to an 8-2 advantage at the break.

Western New England chipped away at the lead using four straight goals, the last by Daniels, to get within 10-8 with 8:52 left in the contest.

Fitzgerald scored her final goal on a free position shot and Gordon held the Golden Bears scoreless until Toomy fired in a shot with 30 seconds remaining,

Freshman goalie Danielle Maguire (Braintree, MA) compiled 17 saves for the Fighting Scots.

Senior Marissa Bonitatibus (Yorktown Heights, NY) stopped seven shots for Western New England.
