KEENE, N.H. - Sophomore forward
Ryan Williams (Brewster, NY) had two goals and two assists to lead the Western New England men's soccer team to a 7-0 shutout victory over Keene State in a non-conference match Wednesday evening (Sept. 14).
This was the fourth straight win for the Golden Bears who improved their record to 6-1. The Owls fall to 1-3-1.
Junior defender
Bobby Jameson (Northbridge, MA) started the scoring with a goal in the 17th minute with assists from senior midfielders
Shawn Fitzpatrick (Burnt Hills, NY) and
Eric Marcelino (Farmington, CT).
Sophomore forward
Jake Bartnik (East Longmeadow, MA) made it 2-0 with a goal in the 30th minute as Williams earned his first point of the night. Williams then netted a goal in the 34th minute as WNE took a three-goal advantage at the break.
The Golden Bears scored three more goals in a 13:15 span midway through the second half.
Freshman midfielder
Chad Barrett (Lebanon, CT) started the scoring spree in the 59th minute as senior forward
Austin Santolini (Agawam, MA) earned the assist. Sophomore forward Mik
e Wysocki (Somers, CT) hit the back of the net in the 69th minute with an assist from Williams who then scored 3:05 later as junior midfielder
Shawn DaCruz (Ludlow, MA) was credited with the assist.
The final goal came from freshman forward
Blake Heyn (Nottingham, NH) in the 89th minute. Senior forward
Kienan Garn (Lake Huntingtion, NY) had the assist.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Domenick Villano (Bronxville, NY) played the opening 68 minutes, 41 seconds. Senior
Sean Healey (Portland, CT) made his first appearance of the season and had two saves in the final 21:19.
Western New England held a 20-13 advantage in shots and had an accurate performance under the lights connecting on eight of 13 attempts on goal.
