BABSON PARK, Mass. –The Western New England University women's volleyball team stepped out of conference play for two matches on Saturday at Babson College's Staake Gymnasium, sweeping Western Connecticut 25-23, 25-18, 27-25 before giving the regionally-ranked Babson Beavers all they could handle in a 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 25-22 loss. The Golden Bears settle at 15-3 on the season, while Babson is now 16-4 and the Colonials drop to 11-10.
Kasey Cameron, a sophomore, led Western New England with 13 kills and a .243 attack percentage against Babson, which is ranked 15th in the latest New England Women's Volleyball Association poll. Junior

Devyn Frank (8 kills), a senior, with a match-best five total blocks.
Freshman Mary Donahue led all players with 18 kills and a .255 hitting percentage for the Beavers, who won with timely defense including 86 digs, 10 team blocks and holding WNE to a .046 attack percentage.
In the first set, Western New England fell behind early 11-3 but stormed back to take 10 of the next 11 points to earn a 13-12 lead. Frank was partially responsible for seven points during that run, recording three kills and four blocks.
Then against the Colonials, Frank (.300) and freshman

Heather Mears picked up 28 of her 61 assists on the day in this rematch of Western New England's 3-2 victory on Sept. 7. Sophomore
Grace Kucharski, who had a match-high 29 digs versus Babson, also posted a match-best 24 in this one.
WCSU received nine kills from sophomore Caitlin Van Camp, as well as eight kills apiece from sophomores Nina Wojtkiewicz and Heather Williams. Sophomore setter Jennifer Hogan paced the Colonials with 32 assists, sophomore Shirley Rodriguez added a team-high 14 digs, and Van Camp and Wojtkiewicz each finished with 13 digs.
Babson also swept Western Connecticut, 25-18, 25-20, 25-12.
