BANGOR, Maine--The Western New England University women's soccer squad moved to 2-0 on the season on Sunday after shutting out Husson, 3-0, at the Eagles' Husson University Classic at Boucher Field. The hosts fell to 0-2.

Alexis Bshara converted a penalty kick with 6 minutes and 18 seconds left in the first half to give the Golden Bears all the scoring they would need. Western New England outshot Husson 7-3 in the first 45 minutes.

The Golden Bears added a pair of second-half goals by Rachel Suntag and Amanda Waluszko 15 minutes apart and never looked back after that. Chelsea Kuzio was credited with an assist on Suntag's tally.

Freshman goalkeeper Briana Kubic (2-0) made three saves to notch her first career shutout in her first two collegiate games.

"It's a great start for our young team, but it's a long season," Western New England coach Ron Dias said after the game. "We just want to work on getting better everyday."
