BOSTON--Sophomore Bonnie Bousquet scored the only goal of the game in the second half to lift the Western New England University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory Saturday against DeSales at the Simmons College Sharks Invitational. The Golden Bears improve to 3-0-1 on the season while the Bulldogs lost for the first time in four outings at 2-1-1.

Bousquet took a feed from senior co-captain Alexis Bshara in the 78th minute to bury her first career goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Briana Kubic made a career-best nine saves to record her second shutout.

Taylor Cowan came off the bench for the second half and stopped three shots, but was charged with the loss.

The Bulldogs outshot Western New England 16 to 13, but the Golden Bears had four corner kicks to DeSales' none.
