WENHAM, Mass.--Kasey Cameron (.304) and
Devyn Frank (.667) spiked a match-best nine kills each to lead an efficient Western New England attack as the visiting Golden Bears dismantled Gordon 25-12, 25-16, 25-15 in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball action on Wednesday evening. Western New England improves to 17-7 overall, including 3-2 in the CCC, while the Scots drop to 11-14 on the season and 0-5 in the conference.
"Tonight was a strong team effort with everyone contributing positively to the win," said third-year WNE coach Bret Stothart. "Every conference win is important and it helps us continue to build some momentum going forward with just 10 days left in the regular season."
One of the preseason favorites in the CCC, WNE controlled the pace of play early on and never let go in the sweep. The Golden Bears offense produced 36 kills on 79 swings with just eight attack errors for an impressive .354 hitting percentage, led by Cameron and Frank who combined for 18 in 35 attempts with only three errors.

The Scots held close to the Golden Bears in the first few points of each set, but WNE's towering net players proved to be the difference in the match. Gordon's largest lead was by five in the second set, but the Golden Bears chipped away at the Scots' lead before finally winning the set outright by nine points.

Rachel Meachem (15 assists) and
Jenna Leuck (13) split setting duties for the Golden Bears.
Tyler Singh (.500) added six kills and CCC digs-by-average leader
Grace Kucharski had a match-high 14 digs.

Lauren Kranyak posted a match-high 18 assists for the Scots, while Jenna Labbadia led Gordon with six kills on 14 attempts. Faith Gerdes and Jessica Burdick contributed five kills each.

The Scots have another tough matchup on Saturday with an away match at nationally-ranked and CCC favorite Roger Williams, while the Golden Bears travel to Beverly on the same day for a noon meeting at conference rival Endicott.
