Briana Kubik made eight saves, as Western New England held on for a 1-0 victory at Endicott in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer action at Endicott Stadium on Saturday.
The visiting Golden Bears extend their unbeaten streak to six games to improve to 7-3-2 on the season, including 2-1-1 in the CCC. The Gulls--who were picked to finish second in the CCC preseason coaches' poll (WNE was 8th)--fall to 7-5-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Mazurski deposited her fourth goal in the 14th minute, and the WNE defense--anchored by Kubik in net--made that stand up the rest of the way. Kubik and the Golden Bears defense haven't allowed a goal in 381 minutes, covering parts of five games.
Endicott outshot WNE by a 23 to 7 margin, led by Leeann Card's five. The Gulls also had six corner kicks to none for WNE.
