CLERMONT, Fla.--A young Western New England University softball team concluded its annual spring break trip in Central Florida with a pair of losses to Allegheny, 12-4 in six innings, and Carleton, 5-2, on Thursday evening at the National Training Center, moving to a respectable 4-6 record on the season.
Against the Gators (7-8), freshman
Heather Fecteau led Western New England with a two-run single in the top of the fifth. Sophomore

Jeana Longo each had a RBI-single, and junior
Maria Francese added a double.
The Gators' offense pounded out 15 hits, including home runs by Stephanie Fort (one on base) and Katrina George (solo blast). Allegheny raced to a 4-0 lead in the very first inning and never looked back, as the contest ended in the home sixth with one out due to the NCAA run-rule.

Leah Torre and sophomore
Lauren Zambrano each had a double to lead the Golden Bears versus Carleton.
