NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--Junior tri-captain
Kelsey Sherman led all scorers with a Western New England season-high eight points on five goals and three assists as the Golden Bears doubled up host Smith, 20-10, on Saturday at Pioneers Field in their first road game of 2013. Western New England moves to 3-0 while the Pioneers were playing in their season opener.
Jessica Lillquist paced Smith with four goals while Rachel Silveria and Petru Bester netted two apiece.

Emily Castleman played the first 30 minutes and had five saves to earn her second win in as many decisions.
Sherman opened the scoring just 25 seconds into the game with an unassisted goal, but Bester responded immediately 30 seconds later to tie the score. The Golden Bears then rang off seven consecutive goals to build an 8-1 advantage, with Sherman scoring three during that stretch, and never looked back.
The Pioneers managed to close within 8-4 with 20 minutes and 43 seconds remaining, but the Golden Bears ended the first half on an 8-3 run to take a nine-goal bulge into the intermission.
Western New England also dominated several statistical categories including shots (35-18), shots on goal (29-16), ground balls (12-7), turnovers (10-16) and draw controls (24-7).
