BOSTON--Freshman attacker
Brooke Kumnick scored a career-high five points and Western New England used a strong start to cruise to a 19-12 road win over Wentworth in Commonwealth Coast Conference women's lacrosse play at Sweeney Field on Tuesday evening. The Golden Bears extended their winning streak to three games to improve to 10-4 on the season, including 5-1 in the conference. The Leopards, meanwhile, drop to 1-8 overall and 0-6 in the CCC.
Kumnick had three goals to pace six multi-goal student-athletes for Western New England, which jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never looked back. Reigning CCC Rookie of the Week

Jessica Scannapieco (1 assist) and
Julianne Green (1 assist) also found the back of the net twice. Scannapieco also won six draws.
Jessica Houghton and Pam Mudge had four goals and two assists apiece for the Leopards, with sophomore Beverly Farris picking up six ground balls. Classmate Alexandea Banks won three draw controls and caused three turnovers. Freshman Hayley Patton made 12 saves.
Both teams step out of conference on Thursday with the Golden Bears traveling to Lasell and the Leopards playing at Regis.
