Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mass.--The Western New England University field hockey team scored a season-high four goals on Wednesday evening, but it wasn't enough in an 8-4 loss at the hands of visiting Salve Regina in the Commonwealth Coast Conference opener for both squads at Golden Bear Stadium. The Seahawks snapped a four-game losing streak to improve to 2-4 overall, while WNE slips to 1-4.
Lisa Bucci led the SRU offense with game highs of four goals and nine points, Jessica Williams came off the bench to score a pair of goals, and Julia Grover and Alexisse Clinger both contributed a goal and an assist.

Jessica Scannapieco tied her career high with five points on two goals and an assist for the Golden Bears, who took a 1-0 lead in the 6th minute on
Megan French's first career goal.
But Clinger scored just 31 seconds to knot the score, igniting a three-goal spurt in a 3-minute, 51-second span to put the Seahawks up 3-1 going into halftime.
Tori Cirocco also scored for WNE, which outshot SRU 22 to 15 and also had a 13-11 edge in penalty corners.
Murphy McCann made eight saves to pick up the win. Freshman
Jessica Hale, who recently joined the team, got the start in the WNE cage and had six stops in her collegiate debut.
