Tim Murray scored an early goal and the Western New England defense made that stand up throughout the match in a 1-0 non-conference men's soccer victory Wednesday over previously undefeated Wheaton at Suprenant Field. Both teams now stand at 2-1 on the season.
Murray, a junior midfielder, headed home the deciding goal in the 18th minute on an assist by
Ryan Williams.
The Golden Bears kicked off the game with a strong offensive attack, moving the ball well on both sides of the field. They worked the ball well into the strikers, which led to five quality shots on goal.
