SOUTHWICK, MA - Western New England came in fifth among 14 teams at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men's Golf Championship Sunday (Oct. 11) at the Ranch Golf Course.
 
WNE compiled a 311 total in today's round, which was an 11-stroke improvement from Saturday, to finish the two-day tournament with a score of 633.
 
John Abbott led the Golden Bears by tying for seventh in the 68-player field with a 150 (80-70). His two-under par showing today tied for the low round Sunday. Abbott was named to the All-Tournament Second Team.

Matt Fontaine tied for 18^th with a 156 (77-79).
 
Scott Guidotti of Middlebury was the medalist with a three-under par 141 (71-70).

Middlebury captured the team title with a 591 (296-295) followed by Trinity at 593 (291-302), Endicott at 606 (302-304), and Rensselaer at 608 (302-306).
