HALIFAX, MA
-- Nicholas Shemkovitz tied for medalist honors with a three-over 75 as defending conference champion Western New England captured top honors at the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Golf Qualifying Tournament.

Western New England, who had a 306 total, will now host the two-day CCC Championship on April 30-May 1, 2016 at a site to be determined. Also advancing were Endicott (312), Roger Williams (312), and Nichols (318). Univ. of New England (332) was fifth at today's tournament followed by Wentworth (337) and Eastern Nazarene (464).
 
Josh Unkrich of Roger Williams tied Shemkovitz for medalist honors while Western New England's Matt Fontaine finished a shot behind with a four-over 76.
 
There was a sixth-way tie for fourth place among Joe Ciolek (Western New England), Paul Butkevich (Univ. of New England), Derek Deveraux (Roger Williams), Dan Negus (Endicott), Austin Teal (Endicott), and Nick Wage (Nichols) who all finished with 77s.
 
Wentworth hosted the event at the par 72, 6,734-yard Country Club of Halifax course.
