Seniors
Alicia Lewis and
Jessica Burke combined on what's believed to be the quickest goal to start a game during Coach Ron Dias' tenure at WNE, which got a goal from
Brooke Labrie after 1 minute, 18 seconds of elapsed time during a 4-0 over Newbury College on Sep. 6 in Bangor, Maine. But this morning, Lewis fed Burke for her first career points in a Golden Bears uniform as she let go a shot from 20 yards out that banked off the upper part of the left post. After just 54 seconds following the opening kickoff, WNE took a 1-0 lead.
Wentworth, however, answered exactly nine minutes later on Mary Annon's fifth goal of the season. Morgan Miller headed a loose ball down to Michelle Murphy who then one-timed a pass through the defense to Annon, striking the ball with her left foot from about 22 yards out and over the keeper's hands.
