EAST LONGMEADOW, MA - The Western New England men's golf team stands in eighth place among 20 schools with a score of 315 after the first round of the Elms Blazer Invitational Saturday (Sept. 26) held at Elmcrest Country Club.
Matt Fontaine was the Golden Bears top finisher with a five-over par 75 followed by
Joe Ciolek with a 78 and
Nicholas Shemkovitz with a 79.

Occidental College (CA) leads the tournament with a 297 with Babson is second (304) followed by Salem State (306), UMass-Dartmouth (307), and Endicott (309). Occidental junior Colton Bares tops the individual leaderboard with a 72 while Salem State sophomore Chad Alibozak is one shot back at 73.
The final round begins at 9:00 a.m. Sunday.
