The Leopards managed to keep the contest close through the first 15 minutes of action, trailing by just one goal (5-4) after Glavin beat McFadden with 14:51 remaining in the first half.

Western New England took control from there, however, scoring the next three goals and eight of the next nine to close out the period. Seven different Golden Bears scored during the 8-1 run as the home team carried a 13-5 lead into the break.

Goals by Paradis and Dexter early in the second half had Wentworth back within seven (14-7), but the Leopards got no closer as Western New England outscored them 9-1 over the final 21:03 of the game. Scialdone netted her 44th and 45th goals of the season late in the second half, while sophomore Lauren Hurley (Saint James, N.Y.) and freshman Briana Petrucelli (Wallingford, Conn.) also got in on the action.

In addition to their significant advantage in shots, the Golden Bears also held the edge in ground balls (27-19) and draw controls (20-13) while going 14-of-18 on their clear attempts and limiting the Leopards to just 8-of-23 clears.

Western New England returns to action on Wednesday afternoon at Roger Williams in a rematch of the 2015 CCC title game, while Wentworth hosts Curry next Saturday at noon.
