Men’s Golf Finishes 12th at the NEIGA Championship

Brewster, Mass. (October 15, 2023) - The Men's Golf team headed to Brewster, Massachusetts, for the NEIGA Championship tournament, played at The Captains Golf Course. Day one saw the Golden Bears sit in 11th place after play had concluded. Day two saw the team fall one place back and finish in 12th place.

How it Happened:

After both days of play had concluded, Mike Bluhm had the best overall score between the two rounds. Bluhm finished with a 79 on day one of play and an 81 on day two, for a total of 160 strokes, which was +16 for the two rounds. Then, Dylan Fortunato and Ryan Schlehuber finished tied at +18, which was a total score of 162. Fortunato started the weekend with an opening round of 80 and finished with a second round of 82. Schlehuber started the weekend with an opening round of 83 and finished today with a 79. Jeremy Burke was the next Golden Bear with a total score of 166, which was +22 for the weekend. Burke had an opening round score of 84 and then came back with a round of 82 today. Robert DeFeo would finish the weekend with a score of 173, which was a +29 for the tournament. DeFeo had an opening round of 87 and a final round of 86. The Golden Bears finished the NEIGA Championship in 12th place with a total score of 823.

  • The Golden Bears will finish their fall season on Thursday, October 19, at 10:00 AM. They will compete at the CCC Qualifiers, which will be held in Grafton, Massachusetts, at Highfield Golf Club.
