WORCESTER, Mass. (November 23, 2024) – The Golden Bears traveled to Clark University for a quad meet against Clark University, Bridgewater State University, and Rhode Island College. WNE was led by Caitlin Guntly, who picked up two wins in two individual events. However, the Golden Bears would drop all three duals.

How it Happened:
The eleven-event quad meet began with the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team of Caitlin Guntly, Vicky Stepien, Olivia Emanuele, and Alexa Adams would finish with a time of 2:07.57 and earn fourth place. Sofia Piantedosi swam the 1000-yard Freestyle race next. Piantedosi finished with a time of 15:28.49. The 200-yard Freestyle was next, and saw Julia Remiszewski compete. Remiszewski finished fourth in the event with a season-best time of 2:22.12. The 50-yard Freestyle followed the 200 Free. The Golden Bears were led by Samantha D'Avignon in that event, who finished with a season-best time of 28.86. Olvia Emanuele and Gianna Calabrese finished next with times of 30.13 and 32.76, respectively. Caitlin Guntly, Vicky Stepien, and Mandy Robinson would dive into the pool next for the 100-yard IM. Guntly won the event with a season-best time of 1:07.24. Stepien would finish next for WNE, with a season-best time of 1:15.05. Mandy Robinson followed Stepien, with a time of 1:16.53. The 100-yard Butterfly would follow. Olivia Emanuele finished in fourth place in the event, with a time of 1:11.13. The 100-yard Freestyle was the next event, with Samantha D'Avignon and Sofia Piantedosi in the race. D'Avignon finished the race with a season-best time of 1:07.79, and Piantedosi finished with a 1:23.26. Caitlin Guntly would win a second individual race in the next event, the 100-yard Backstroke. Guntly earned a time of 1:04.74. Julia Remisewski finished in fifth place, with a time of 1:11.30. The 500-yard Freestyle saw Vicky Stepien and Giada Caruso race in the event. Stepien finished with a time of 6:47.21, and Caruso finished with a time of 7:06.51. The 100-yard Breaststroke followed the 500 Free. Mandy Robinson finished with a 1:28.11, Gianna Calabrese finished with a 1:34.43, and Sofia Piantedosi finished with a 1:43.28 in the event. The meet concluded with the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. The team of Mandy Robinson, Julia Remisewski, Gianna Calabrese, and Giada Caruso finished with a time of 2:08.28 and finished the race in fourth place. The meet ended with WNE losing to Bridgewater State 173-59, Clark 138-60, and RIC 98-92.
