Biddeford, Maine (February 3, 2024) – The Golden Bears traveled to Biddeford, Maine, for a dual meet against the University of New England Nor'Easters. The Golden Bears would fall to the Nor'Easters 192-50. However, Caitlin Guntly would win two events, the 50-yard Backstroke and the 100-yard Backstroke. Also, Gianna Calabrese would finish with a season-best time in the 200-yard Freestyle, and Hannah Delude had a season-best time in the 50-yard Backstroke.

How it Happened:
The meet started with the 200-yard Medley Relay. In that event, the Golden Bears had a relay team of Caitlin Guntly, Gianna Calabrese, Olivia Emanuele, and Megan Morrissey. They would finish fourth, with a time of 2:13.46. The 1000-yard Freestyle was the following event. Olivia Emanuele swam and got second place in the event, with a time of 12:51.82. The 200-yard Freestyle would then see three Golden Bears in the event. In the event, Megan Morrissey, Alexa Adams, and Gianna Calabrese finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Megan Morrissey finished with a time of 2:23.39, Alexa Adams finished with a time of 2:34.63, and Gianna Calabrese finished with a season-best time of 2:38.49. The next event was the 50-yard Backstroke. Caitlin Guntly won the event with a time of 30.84. Hannah Delude finished in fifth place with a season-best time of 50.68. The event after was the 50-yard Breaststroke. Gianna Calabrese finished in fifth place with a time of 43.25. The 100-yard Butterfly event saw Olivia Emanuele get second place, with a time of 1:09.09.
After that event, it was time for the 50-yard Freestyle. Alexa Adams and Hannah Delude finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively. Alexa Adams finished with a time of 30.13, and Hannah Delude finished with a time of 43.50. The 100-yard Freestyle followed. Megan Morrissey finished in fourth place with a time of 1:04.59. Then, Caitlin Guntly picked up another win in the 100-yard Backstroke event. Caitlin Guntly finished with a time of 1:07.40. The 200-yard Breaststroke had one WNE swimmer in the event. Gianna Calabrese finished the event in fourth place, with a time of 3:25.40. The 500-yard Freestyle did not have a WNE swimmer in the event. The 50-yard Butterfly did. Alexa Adams placed second in the event, with a time of 33.07. The Golden Bears did not have a swimmer compete in the 100-yard IM. However, in the last event of the meet, the Golden Bear relay team of Alexa Adams, Caitlin Guntly, Megan Morrissey, and Olivia Emanuele competed in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. They finished in third place, with a time of 1:57.82. The Golden Bears lost 192-50.
