SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 13, 2024) –  The Western New England softball team will travel to Medford, Massachusetts and Tufts University for the opening round of the NCAA Division III Softball playoffs, opening the regional round on Thursday, May 16 at noon. 

Along with Western New England University and Tufts University, the regional will be rounded out by a first-round game between the University of Rochester and St. John Fisher University, both automatic qualifiers out of the Liberty League and Empire 8 conference, respectively. The Golden Bears, out of the Commonwealth Coast Conference, took the crown for the first time since 2018, defeating fifth seeded Roger Williams University in a winner-take-all game, 9-3. The Golden Bears enter the NCAA's with a 27-13 record this season, including a 11-5 mark in CCC play. 

The opening game between Tufts University and Western New England will take place at Spicer Field on Thursday, May 16 at 12:00 pm.
