Women’s Ice Hockey Drops The Puck For Fifth Full Season October 31

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 14, 2025) – The Western New England women's ice hockey team unveiled its 25-game regular season schedule Tuesday afternoon, which is set to begin on the road Friday, October 31, with the home opener the following night, Saturday, November 1. All home games will be played at the Olympia Ice Center in West Springfield, Massachusetts. 

The Golden Bears kick off their 2025-2026 winter season at Worcester State University at Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center the evening of Halloween, Friday, October 31 at 3:00 PM. The Golden Bears have won the last three matchups against WSU. The month of November opens the home slate for WNE women's ice hockey as the Golden Bears host Rivier University on that Saturday, November 1 at 5:00 PM from the Olympia Ice Center. Women's ice hockey will also host its Cub Club Night for the fourth straight season, connecting girls in the community who enjoy or play hockey and connecting them to create relationships with the WNE women's ice hockey team. Conference of New England (CNE) play will open the next weekend for the Golden Bears as a home-and-home series is set to begin with the University of New England on Friday, November 7, (7:00 PM) on the road and Saturday, November 8, (5:00 PM) at home. The home contest will be Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night. CNE play continues as the Golden Bears take on both Endicott College (November 14 & 15) and Suffolk University (November 20 & 22). Before the Thanksgiving break, WNE will host Williams College in the first-ever meeting between the two programs on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:50 PM. 

Just two games are on the schedule for the Golden Bears when they return from a short break as they play another home-and-home, this time with CNE opponent Nichols College, hitting the road on Friday, December 5 before hosting the Bison at Olympia Ice Center on Saturday, December 6 at 5:30 PM. That game will be WNE women's ice hockey's Mental Health Awareness Night. 

WNE returns from winter break with a non-conference road contest against the Mammoths of Amherst College at Orr Rink on Thursday, January 8 at 7:00 PM. WNE then returns home for a pair of contests, hosting SUNY Oswego on Saturday, January 10 at 5:10 PM and hosting a rare in conference weekday afternoon game on Tuesday, January 13 at 1:30 PM against Johnson & Wales University. WNE heads to JWU that following Friday, January 16 to cap off the home-and-home with the Wildcats. The final two non-conference games of the season see the Golden Bears welcome Trinity College (Conn.) to Olympia Ice Center for Hockey Fights
Cancer Night on Friday, January 23 at 8:10 PM before hitting the road for a night contest against Salve Regina University on January 24. 

All Conference of New England contests remain for the blue and gold with their final home-and-home series taking place on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31, traveling to, and hosting Curry College on those weekend nights. The month of February stays busy for the blue and gold as the Golden Bears travel to Nichols College on Friday, February 6 and host Endicott College on Saturday, February 7. WNE heads back to Curry College on February 13 before returning home on Saturday, February 14 to host Suffolk University. The final regular season road contest comes on Friday, February 20 where WNE heads to Johnson & Wales University once more before returning home to host a matinee contest for Senior Day on Saturday, February 21 at 1:30 PM, welcoming the University of New England to Olympia Ice Center to wrap up the regular season.
