Irving Collects New England Hockey Writers Association All-Star Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 3, 2025) – Western New England women's ice hockey goalie Rachael Irving has been named to the New England Hockey Writers Association All-Star Team, the fourth Golden Bear in the history of the program to pick up honors from the organization.

Irving adds this honor this season after already being named the Conference of New England (CNE) Goalie of the Year and named to the CNE All-Conference First Team. Irving played in 16 games for the blue and gold this season, making 14 starts. Over her 16 games played, the Auburn, New Hampshire native allowed just 18 goals, coming away with a 1.24 Goals Against Average (GAA), and 454 total saves on the year, including a career-high 43 saves against Endicott College (2/8). Irving dotted a .962 save percentage this season which was tied for the highest in NCAA DIII this season. Irving supported an 8-3-3 record this season while picking up four shutouts on the year, the most in the conference.

Irving joins 2024-2025 teammates Alyssa Murphy and Maddie Pope as well as former Golden Bears goalie Rieley-Jessie Gerelli on the New England Hockey Writers Association All-Star Team. Irving will be honored by the New England Hockey Writers Association at the annual banquet which will take place on Tuesday, April 22 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugas, Massachusetts.
