Coach's Corner:
Head coach Tyler Keane was asked for a comment on what he thought of the team's overall performance today, as well as a comment on what he thought worked for Ayana during her 1st place finish. "I'm really proud of how our team competed today. They wrestled hard, supported each other, and showed a lot of growth for the first weekend out. Ayana was sharp from start to finish. She stayed composed, attacked her positions, and earned every point. Even though today was a fun day, we're already looking forward to getting back in the room this week and preparing for our next competition on Sunday," Keane stated.
Ayana Contreras was asked for a comment on what she thought worked well for her during her first career collegiate tournament victory. "At the Princeton open I completed in my first college tournament and I think I did a great job but i definitely know I need to work on things in the room despite my outcome this weekend. Not only did I do great this weekend, but so did our whole women's wrestling team. We all went out and gave it our all and I can't wait to see how the rest of our season goes, this is just our beginning!" Contreras emphaisized.
