Five Golden Bears Sit In Top 20 Of Latest The Open Mat Rankings Ahead Of NCAA Regional Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (February 13, 2026) – Five members of the Western New England women's wrestling team have been named to the top 20 of their respective weight classes in the latest rankings from The Open Mat, announced by the organization this week, including Maddie Ripley, Linda Holeman, Jazmene Molina, Tanya Teneva, and Atiyana Williams

In the 117 lb. weight class, WNE first-year Maddie Ripley sits 17th in this week's rankings. Ripley is 22-2 on the season, with multiple wins over ranked opponents on the year. The Owls Head, Maine, native ripped off 16 wins in a row, spanning from November 23 – February 8, including four victories at the 2026 NWCA National Duals, and won the 117 lb. weight class title at the Will Abele Invitational on January 17. Ripley will look to stay dominant on the mat next weekend when the Golden Bears head to the NCAA Regional Championships in Elmira, New York. 

Linda Holeman sits 16th overall in the 124 lb. weight class, coming away with an impressive victory in last weekend's dual match against Sacred Heart University, defeating Tati Walker, earning a 10-0 technical fall victory. Holeman has ripped off six wins in a row for Western New England and has 22 victories in 25 matches overall, tying Ripley for the second-most in victories. 

In the 131 lb. weight class, Western New England's Jazmene Molina picked up a 6-1 victory over Sacred Heart's Elleahna Anderson and has won four matches in a row for the Blue and Gold. Molina ranks 13th overall in the weight class by The Open Mat and is 17-3 for the Golden Bears this season. Molina has eight technical fall wins, four pins, and four decision wins on the mat. 

At 138 lbs., Tanya Teneva continues her ranked status, also sitting 13th overall. Teneva has owned the mat for the Golden Bears, leading the team with 24 victories in 29 matches overall. The Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria, native earned a fall victory this past weekend at Sacred Heart University over Veronica Whitacre in 2:39 for a big victory for the Golden Bears. Teneva has ten wins via fall this season, second most on the team, while her 11 technical fall wins also sit second for the Blue and Gold. 

For the second straight rankings, Western New England's Atiyana Williams sits inside the top 20 in the 180 lb. weight class, ranking 19th overall this week. Williams has 14 victories for the Golden Bears this season, including three at the 2026 NWCA National Duals event, and took the championship match at the Will Abele Invitational to finish first overall at the event inside the weight class. Half of the victories from Williams have come via fall this season.

As a team, the Golden Bears rank 22nd overall in The Open Mat Team Dual Ranking, which is fifth among NCAA Division III schools.

Western New England women's wrestling will compete in the NCAA Regional Championships next weekend, a three-day event, beginning on Friday, February 20 and lasting until the final champion is crowned on Sunday, February 22. From there, the national qualifiers will head to the NCAA National Championships in Coralville, Iowa, for a four-day event, beginning on Thursday, March 5, and lasting until Sunday, March 9.
