Lilly Hedge Picks Up NEWBA All-Region Second Team Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 11, 2025) – Western New England women's basketball senior forward Lilly Hedge has been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association's (NEWBA) Second Team All-Region, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. The accolade is the second major award from Hedge after being named Conference of New England Player of the Year.

Hedge led Western New England in nearly every statistical category this season, a season that came to an end last Saturday night against Gettysburg College, a close 55-52 defeat. Hedge finished the year by averaging 11.1 points per game, scoring 108 field goals, shooting 45% from the floor. Hedge poured in 322 points this season, a career high, while picking up 232 rebounds, 66 on the offensive glass and 166 on the defensive side of the ball, averaging eight rebounds per game. To go along with her strong offensive numbers, Hedge included 78 assists, 47 steals, and 30 blocks to her resume. 

In the final game of the season, Hedge notched her eighth double-double of the season, coming up with 17 points, one shy of tying her career high, while hauling in 17 rebounds, crushing her career best. Hedge shot 8/10 from the floor in the game while coming up with two assists and a steal in the game. The WNE senior ends her senior campaign with 322 points over 29 games played, all starts. 

The Western New England women's basketball team produced their best season in program history, coming up with a program record 25 wins over 29 games, going 25-4, while producing a 16-2 mark in conference play.
