Josh Bliss has been named to the Conference of New England Community Service Team, becoming the first member of the men's ice hockey team to earn the award.
Bliss, a two-year captain for WNE men's ice hockey, has been heavily involved in the greater Springfield community as well as his community within Western New England. Bliss is a mainstay on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee e-board on campus and is heavily involved as a student-athlete in other areas of athletics.
When not competing on the ice, Bliss can be found at nearly every Western New England athletics home event as part of the game operations crew where he assists in all aspects of game operations.
Bliss is the first from Western New England men's ice hockey to earn the newest awards set forth by the Conference of New England. The purpose of the Conference of New England Community Service Team is to highlight one student-athlete per institution who demonstrates a commitment to their community. Each winner was picked and nominated by each program's head coach.
