SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (May 6, 2025– The New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) released their postseason awards on Tuesday afternoon, seeing Cameron Hines earn honors on the All-NEWA First Team while three Golden Bears were named to the NEWA Honorable Mention Team, four to the NEWA All-Rookie Team, and 14 total Golden Bears picked up honors on the NEWA All-Academic Team.

After competing at the national level this season, Western New England men's wrestling senior Cameron Hines has been named to the All-NEWA First Team, joining an elite list of student-athletes across nine institutions within the conference. Hines produced a stellar 27-6 record on the mat for the Golden Bears this season, picking up eight decision wins, six falls, six major decisions, and four technical falls. The 27 wins on the season for Hines was tied for the most wins on the season for the Golden Bears.

In addition to the first and second teams released by NEWA, three Golden Bears were named to the NEWA Honorable Mention team, including James Linder, Jaylen Hawkins, and Charles Maloy

Linder jumped onto the scene and made an immediate impact for the Western New England men's wrestling team in 2024-2025. The Oakdale, Connecticut native picked up 23 wins over his 37 matches this season, including nine decision wins, a team high, five falls, five technical falls, and three major decision victories. Linder took eighth place overall at the NCAA Division III Region I Championships in the 149 lb. weight class to cap off his first year in blue and gold.

Despite starting his season at the midway point of the year, Hawkins still was able to come up with ten victories in 16 matches in his final year in blue and gold. Hawkins captured seventh place in the 184 lb. weight class for Western New England men's wrestling at the NCAA Division III Championships, winning three matches overall at the event. Hawkins' season can be highlighted by a five-match winning streak, four of which came by major decision.

Maloy picked up 20 match victories this season for the Golden Bears to earn recognition on the NEWA Honorable Mention team. Seven of Maloy's wins came via fall this season, while five decisions, five major decisions, and two technical falls would round out the 2024-2025 campaign for the WNE senior. Maloy also finished the season in seventh place at the regional event, capping off his career with a fall victory in the seventh-place match.

NEWA also recognized four Golden Bears this season on the 2024-2025 All-NEWA Rookie Team. Beniamino Dicocco, James Linder, Colin Carlin, and Matthew Rodriguez were named to the list this season.

The organization lastly listed the list of the 2024-2025 NEWA All-Academic Team, naming 14 Golden Bears this year.
