SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (October 26, 2026) – Western New England field hockey first-year Kamryn Miller has been honored by the Conference of New England (CNE) for the first time this season, being named the Rookie of the Week.

Miller had an exceptional week for the Golden Bears, playing in all three games, starting in all, and also continuing her minutes-played streak to every minute of every game so far this season. Miller opened the week by scoring her first career collegiate goal at Wesleyan University, taking a pair of shots, putting one on goal.
Miller then helped Western New England record back-to-back shutouts in a pair of 1-0 wins over Westfield State University and the University of New England. Miller helped the Golden Bears' defense keep Westfield State to their season-low in shots (7) and not find the back of the net for just the second time all season. Miller
then recorded her ninth defensive save of the season against UNE, a team-high, and leads all players across the conference, tied for third-most in the nation, while keeping the Nor'easters to just six shots on goal and becoming the only team in the conference to not allow a goal to UNE this season.

Miller and the Golden Bears return to action this coming Wednesday, October 28, at 6:00 PM, taking on Salve Regina University in non-conference action. The Golden Bears will then play in the CNE Semifinals on Wednesday, November 4, at 7:00 PM at Golden Bear Stadium.
