SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (March 23, 2026) – Western New England baseball's
Tyler Waterbury has been named the Conference of New England (CNE) Baseball Rookie of the Week after recording a hit in all three games played, helping the Golden Bears to a pair of wins during the week.
Waterbury made his first career start at Trelease Park in a win over the United States Coast Guard Academy, coming away with a hit, an RBI, and a sacrifice fly in the 5-2 victory. Waterbury continued with two hits in four at-bats, picking up two runs and a walk in a 14-4 victory over the University of Saint Joseph. To round out
the weekend, Waterbury collected a hit and a run in two at-bats against Russell Sage College, while producing a sacrifice in the game. For the week, Waterbury hit .444 at the plate, collecting four hits over nine at-bats, picking up a triple and an RBI.
The Western New England baseball team will play four road games this week, beginning on Tuesday, March 24 at 3:00 PM in CNE action, taking on the University of Hartford. The Golden Bears will also take on Amherst College (March 25) and Wentworth Institute of Technology (March 28) to round out the week.
