Beavers Run Past Golden Bears, Winning 19-8

BABSON PARK, Mass. (March 7, 2026) – The Golden Bears fell on the road to Babson College on Saturday, kicking off their three-game Spring Break slate of games. Babson got out to an 11-3 lead after the first half and never looked back. Braden Reilly tallied five points to send the Beavers past the Golden Bears 19-8.

How it Happened:
First Quarter:
  • Babson started the game quickly as they scored the first two and three of the first four goals to take a quick 3-1 lead. Joey Allen scored two of the first three Babson goals.
  • The Beavers continued to send pressure at WNE, who saw Logan Proctor and Jacob Roy score in the first quarter. Babson would score the final three goals of the first quarter, with all of them being scored on even-strength.
  • Babson led 6-2 after the first quarter of play. They had 11 shots, 8 on goal, and 1 power-play goal. They won six of nine faceoffs and had nine ground balls picked up. WNE had eight shots, four on goal, and nine ground balls picked up.
Second Quarter:
  • The second started with the Golden Bears getting a goal back thanks to Thomas Labbe. However, Babson scored five goals in a row to end the first half.
  • Braden Reilly had two goals and two assists for four points on that 5-0 run for the Beavers. Those goals were numbers five and six of the season for Reilly, and the final Reilly goal gave Babson an 11-3 lead at halftime.
  • The first half stats saw Babson leading in shots 25-14, shots on goal 16-8, faceoff wins 12-4, and ground balls picked up 25-12. Both teams had five saves.
Third Quarter:
  • The third quarter was quite similar to the first. Babson started the scoring early, but the Golden Bears were able to claim two goals in the quarter before Babson ended the fifteen minutes with three consecutive goals.
  • David Noel scored his first goal of the season in the third. Max Rudgers scored his fourth for WNE. Camden Matthews was the top point scorer for Babson in the third with one goal and one assist for two points.
  • The third quarter saw WNE take more shots, 10-6, but Babson would score on every shot taken in the third. Babson had two saves and had more ground balls picked up, 9-8. WNE had more faceoff wins, 7-2.
Fourth Quarter:
  • WNE entered the final quarter of play down by twelve. Thomas Labbe and Josh Gagnon scored two and cut the deficit to ten. However, the Beavers answered with two goals of their own.
  • Jacob Roy scored the final goal of the game as the Golden Bears fell by a deficit of eleven to Babson College.
  • The final stats saw WNE trail in shots 38-32, shots on goal 24-16, ground balls picked up 39-24, faceoff wins 18-13, caused turnovers 12-8, and saves 8-5.
Inside the Lines:
  • The Golden Bears dropped the contest to the Beavers, 19-8.
  • Babson was led by Braden Reilly, who had five points, two goals, and three assists.
  • Six other Babson scorers had two goals. Two others had two assists.
  • Beau Burns picked up ten ground balls and was 16-19 from the faceoff dot for Babson.
  • Andrew Almquist made eight saves for Babson on sixteen shots.
  • Thomas Labbe led WNE with five points.
