SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (August 27, 2026) – Western New England rising sophomore Mikayla Mrzywka has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Collegiate Watchlist, showcasing field hockey student-athletes with potential for consideration to the current year's NFHCA All-Region and All-American teams, as nominated by their head coaches. 

Myzywka put together a memorable first season in Blue and Gold, leading Western New England with 20 goals and 45 points in 2025. Mrzywka tallied nine goals and 21 points overall across seven Conference of New England (CNE) games last season. The Macedon, New York, native, played in all 21 games for the Golden Bears, making 17 starts, taking 92 shots, placing 67 shots on goal and came away with four game-winning goals on the year. 

Mrzywka entered the single-season record books for WNE last season, ranking among the program's best in points, points per game, goals, goal per game, and game-winning goals. Mrzywka is one of seven student-athletes around the CNE to be named to the 2026 NFHCA Collegiate Watchlist. 

Looking to improve on a 12-9 mark from 2025, the Golden Bears will be in action on Tuesday, September 1, at 7:00 PM at Golden Bear Stadium for the season opener, hosting Smith College.
