SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Sophomore Allison Jameson (Brattleboro, VT) scored a career high four goals to lead top-ranked Western New England College to a 7-2 decision over eighth-seeded Husson College (Maine) in a quarterfinal game of the 2004 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament.
With the victory, the Golden Bears (13-7) established a school record for wins breaking the old mark of 12 set two years ago.
Jameson scored all her goals in the first half while classmate Stephanie Gildart (Portland, ME) also scored to give WNEC a 5-0 lead at half-time.
Freshmen Emily Popham (Orange, MA) and Bridget Bates (Greenfield, MA) scored in the second half. It was the first collegiate goal for Popham.
Senior Adrienne Guay (Enfield, NH) and freshman Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) contributed two assists while juniors Alyssa Katz (Cortlandt Manor, NY) and Megan Cloutier (Greenfield, MA) each had an assist.
Western New England College will host a semifinal round game of the NAC Tournament on Tuesday against either Becker or Lasell.
