MANCHESTER, N.H. - Once again the second period came back to haunt the Western New England College men's hockey team in a 10-0 loss at undefeated Southern New Hampshire Tuesday in an ECAC Northeast contest.

The Golden Bears played a strong first period trailing only 1-0 before the Penmen tallied five times in the middle stanza to break the game open.

Western New England College managed only 19 shots in the game while missing all nine power play attempts.

Brandon Hammermeister had a hat trick for Southern New Hampshire (2-0-1) along with two assists.

WNEC (0-3) opens its home season against Worcester State at 8:35 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 17) at the Olympia Ice Center in West Springfield.
