SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Junior Alison Jameson (Brattleboro, VT) had a goal and two assists to lead the Western New England College field hockey team to a 5-0 victory over Nichols Thursday in a non-conference game at Golden Bear Stadium.

Senior Alyssa Katz (Cortlandt Manor, NY) and freshman Caitlin Gelber (Centereach, NY) each added a goal and assist for the Golden Bears who took a 4-0 lead at half-time.

Jameson and Katz each have 86 career points that ties Margaret Apanell (1981-82) for second place on the school's all-time scoring list.

Juniors Stephanie Gildart (Portland, ME) and Audrey Kelton (Wilder, VT) had the other goals as Western New England College posted its second straight shutout.

Senior goalie Kara Cicchiello (Willimantic, CT) had nine saves for the Bison (0-1).

The Golden Bears (5-1) return to action on Tuesday (Sept. 20) hosting Becker in its North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener at 4.
