SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England College's field hockey team finished second at the Zenaty Invitational after dropping a 3-0 decision to host Springfield in the championship game Sunday at Benedum Field.

This was the first loss of the season for the Golden Bears who saw their record dip to 2-1.

Springfield (2-0) controlled most of the first half and led 1-0 at intermission. The Pride scored a pair of goals in the second half to win the title for the ninth consecutive season.

WNEC senior goalie Jillian Brown (Plymouth, MA) had 11 saves.
