LUDLOW, Mass. â€" Junior Evan Heymann (Ipswich, MA) scored two goals and assisted on another as Western New England College remained unbeaten with a 3-1 victory over Westfield State in a non-conference match played at Lusitano Stadium.

Heymann, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Co-Player-of-the-Week, tallied both his goals in a 6:30 span late in the first half to give the Golden Bears a 2-0 lead at intermission. He leads the team in scoring with 11 points (4 goals, 3 assists).

Freshman Dan Hare (Stattsburg, NY) had an assist on Heymann’s second goal and hit the back of the net in the 67th minute for his second goal of the season as Western New England College opened up a 3-0 lead.

Junior Tim Larocca (East Longmeadow, MA) received the assist on Heymann’s first goal.

Westfield State, which was playing its season opener, averted the shutout when junior Matt Ross (Wareham, MA) scored in the 88th minute with an assist from freshman Brian Womersley (Billerica, MA).

Western New England College is now 4-0.
