WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England College fell behind early and couldn't catch up in suffering a 7-2 loss Saturday night against UMass-Dartmouth in an ECAC Northeast men's hockey game at the Olympia Ice Center.

The Corsairs scored the first five goals of the contest to take a 5-0 lead after two periods and had a 45-23 shot advantage in the game.

The Golden Bears tallied twice in the final stanza on unassisted goals by freshman Joe Balog (Ludlow, MA) at the 1:53 mark and senior Dave Wright (New City, NY) with 48 seconds remaining. 

UMass-Dartmouth raised its record to 11-4 (5-1 ECAC Northeast) with its seventh consecutive victory.

Western New England College, who defeated Plymouth State 7-2 in its last start on Sunday, falls to 2-8-2 and 0-5-1 in the conference.
