SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Senior defenseman Dave Wright (New City, NY) scored the only goal for Western New England College in a 5-1 loss to Stonehill in an ECAC Northeast men's hockey game Thursday night at the Olympia Ice Center.

The Golden Bears, coming off a 4-4 overtime tie at league leader Curry on Tuesday, fell behind 1-0 after the first period before Wright knotted the contest with his fifth goal of the season 25 seconds into the second period. Freshman forward Mike Majesty (Chicago, IL) and sophomore defenseman Nick Klassen (Parker, CO) received assists on the play.

Stonehill (8-6, 6-5) answered with goals at the 12:18 and 15:42 marks to take a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes, then added a pair of goals in final stanza.

Sophomore goalie Jamie Babineau (Medway, MA) made 22 saves for the Golden Bears while junior Josh Green (Mendon, MA) had 20 stops for the Chieftains. Sophomore forward (and former Springfield Cathedral High School standout) Anthony Zanetti (Ludlow, MA) netted a goal and assist for Stonehill who ran its winning streak to four games.

Western New England College falls to 3-10-3 and 0-7-2 in the ECAC Northeast.
