BABSON PARK, Mass. -- Senior tri-captain Allison Jameson (Brattleboro, VT) recorded a natural hat trick and junior goalie Emilie Donka (White River Junction, VT) made 14 saves to lead visiting Western New England College to a 4-0 victory over Babson College in a non-conference field hockey contest at MacDowell Field on Wednesday night (Oct. 25) in the final game of the regular season for both squads.

With the win, the Golden Bears improved to 12-7 overall, while the Beavers dropped to 8-10.

Babson dominated the first half of play, outshooting WNEC by a 22-2 margin. However, the Golden Bears made their second attempt count when Jameson broke free on junior goalie Soraya Gallegos and scored the game’s first goal with 12:25 remaining in the half.

In an evenly played second half, Jameson made it 2-0 when she scored on a penalty stroke with 14:31 left in the game. The senior forward then completed the natural hat trick when she scored off a rebound with 19:19 on the clock.

Junior Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) finished off the scoring four and a half minutes later with a penalty corner drive.

Donka was magnificent in net for Western New England College, making seven saves in the first half and seven more in the second stanza.

The Golden Bears backfield also played brilliantly, forcing 16 of Babson’s 30 shots off goal.

Western New England College will host Becker at 6:00 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 28) in a quarterfinal round game of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament.
