SPRINGFIELD, Mass. â€" Field hockey standout Cori Eggert (Denville, NJ) was honored Wednesday (Sept. 27) as the Western New England College Female Athlete-of-the-Week.

Eggert, a junior forward, scored four goals in a 3-0 week as Western New England College extended its winning streak to four games. She tallied a pair of goals against Manhattanville (3-2 overtime), including the game winner in the extra session and had the winning shot against Mount Holyoke (1-0) as the Golden Bears defeated the Lyons for the first time in eight meetings dating back to 1999.

Eggert is a Math major.
